The Reading Room | Karachi

Revitalization of Karachi’s historic Khalikdina Hall through literary digitization and community cultural programming.

Khalikdina Hall and Library, one of the last reading rooms in Karachi, has suffered from years of instability and neglect. Numaish-Karachi is leading a project to restore the building’s role as a cultural hub by improving public access to digitized literary collections. The initiative also involves hosting a range of cultural activities designed to re-engage the local community, breathe new life into the site, and promote reading, heritage, and collective memory.
