The Peruvian Peasant Confederation Archive (Confederación Campesina del Perú): Rural and Indigenous Society, National Politics, and International Solidarity

Since 1947 the Confederación Campesina del Perú (CCP) has been active in defence of peasants and indigenous people. Their archive documents the organized efforts of rural and indigenous people in Peru during the 20th century, including the 1969 agrarian reform and the conflict with the Shining Path (1980-1992).

The archive of the Confederación Campesina del Perú (CCP) includes flyers and posters that document the CCP's organization, its national congresses, efforts to incorporate women's groups, correspondence with foreign human rights organizations and political parties. The collection also includes a collection of denunciations by rural people and details from the organization’s support of indigenous communities' efforts to defend their land and autonomy. The archive provides insight into the history of Peru in the 20th Century, including the growth of the radical left, organization of major strikes, and the impact of Shining Path on the peasantry and indigenous peoples.
