Join us for an evening in conversation with Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas of Jordan at the V&A South Kensington.
Hosted by the V&A's Culture in Crisis Programme, this special event explores how the story of Petra - one of the world's most iconic heritage sites - can help shape the way we care for culture and community around the globe.
Princess Dana brings a wealth of experience as President of the Petra National Trust, Jordan's leading heritage NGO, and as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. Her work has championed the role of cultural heritage in sustainable development, responsible tourism and community empowerment. She also serves as Chair of the International National Trusts Organisation and has held leadership roles with ICOMOS and the World Monuments Fund.
In this conversation, Princess Dana will reflect on Petra's enduring legacy and how its preservation offers lessons for heritage sites worldwide. She will share insights on the importance of local voices, the connection between people and place and how caring for our cultural past can help us build a more sustainable and inclusive future.
