V&A Culture in Crisis and ICOM UK are pleased to announce the second episode of their new webinar series, Preserving the Past: Strategies for Heritage in Crisis.
Hosted by Maria Blyzinsky (Trustee at ICOM UK) and Sam Johnson (Cultural Heritage Preservation Lead for V&A), the series features specialists who discuss aspects of crisis management from their own experience. Each webinar focuses on a different threat and provides invaluable insights and strategies for safeguarding heritage in times of peril. There will also be a chance for the audience to ask questions.
Whether you work in museums, galleries, archives, libraries or other heritage sites, the series will feature case studies and research to share some of the latest tools and techniques used to protect and preserve our shared cultural heritage for future generations.
The second webinar on Water and Flooding will take place at 15:00 BST on Friday 19 July.
Our guests will be Andrea Richards and Dr Alex Rock. Andrea Richards is a Caribbean public archaeologist with extensive project management experience with a focus on climate change and disaster risk reduction and management of heritage. Dr Alex Rock is Director of Commercial and Operations for Derby Museums, he led on Derby Museums flooding response after the flood at Museum of Making and also sits on the NMDC culture and ecology working group.
