Call for Conference Papers: Bridging epistemic divides in cultural heritage protection: An exercise in confrontation and conversation

In May 2023 (8-9 May 2023), the Cultural Heritage Working Group at the European University Institute in Florence are organizing a conference on the theme 'Bridging epistemic divides in cultural heritage protection: An exercise in confrontation and conversation'.

The conference hopes to trigger inter-disciplinary discussions about the Eurocentrism of cultural heritage policies and their implementation. We centre the role of epistemic conflicts, i.e. conflicts between different ways of thinking about and engaging with heritage. Our ambition is to bring people who are traditionally separated by space and discipline in conversation with each other.

The deadline for submissions is 15 February 2023.
